Buzz Bee getting better?

I just found this on Jerm's facebook page (you can find his blog in the "links" tab). There are several more blasters, but this one is the only one that has a link. I will definately be purchasing one of these! It's supposed to shoot up to 60 feet! Here is the link: http://www.target.com/p/Buzz-Bee-Ranger-Master/-/A-14046042#?lnk=sc_qi_detailbutton
I think I will probably have more reviews of blasters from companies other than Nerf in the next few months, because I'm getting a little mad at Hasbro for shutting Urban Taggers down (their link is in the "links" tab, but it doesn't work right now because it is currently down).
Also, Nerf is going to release some kind of info on the new N- Strike Elite series on Monday, so check their facebook page for that!

Orange Mod works 5KG spring review!

The Nerf Alpha Trooper is my favorite reverse plunger system blaster. I think it's great even in it's stock form. When I decided that it was time to mod, I wanted it to perform really well, so I ordered a spring from Orange Mod Works (link here). I also ordered it because I wanted to see how the spring performed alone before I buy any of the kits. After receiving it and putting many shots through it, I'm very happy with it. The spring fits in the blaster flawlessly ( It's VERY powerful and high quality). I had a small problem with it occasionally locking up about halfway into the prime, but I found that the end of the spring coil was sticking out just enough to block the plunger from moving. All I had to do to fix this problem was to flip the spring around. When fired it feels quite powerful. The prime isn't too difficult, and the blaster still operates very smoothly. This spring along with my other mods (seal improval, air restrictor removal, lubricated all moving parts) this blaster will achieve 50- 60 feet with a slightly angled shot very easily. I'm very satisfied with this product, and I will be doing business with them in the future. Shipping was fast, and their customer service is also great.
Mods done to this Alpha Trooper to achieve these ranges:
-Seal improval
-Plunger padding
-Lubricated all moving parts
-Orange Mod Works 5+ KG spring

Vintage Nerf Sneak Shot Review and Internals guide!

I found this at a thrift store a few months ago for 75 cents. I didn't have a clue what it was, but it was vintage, so I bought it. I later found out after searching for a long time that it is called the Sneak Shot. It originally had sights and mirrors on it so that you could shoot around corners which seems pretty cool. It is a bolt- action single shot blaster with a direct plunger, and a barrel that rotates from side to side. I don't have any Mega Darts, so I wrapped a piece of CPVC in E- tape and glued it in the original barrel. I didn't do any other modifications besides that and lubricating all of the moving parts.
This is what it originally looked like (photo credit: orange's Nerf page)
This is what mine looks like:
Here are the internals:

Close up of the front half of the internals:
Ranges with stefans and streamlines range from 40-50 feet. It even shoots well when the barrel is turned to the side (that's what the orange knob is for) If you see one of these blasters for a reasonable price, pick it up. It's by no means "battle worthy" but it's a cool blaster.

Nerf Dart Tag Hyperfire Mod Guide!

I found a Dart Tag Hyperfire at the thrift store for $1, so I picked it up. I don't know what the ranges are out of the box exactly, but mine only shot about 15 feet. It's a very easy and straightforward mod.

Remove all of the screws, and It opens into two halves

close up of internals

Remove the turret assembly

Take out the five screws on the back

Open up the turret, and the air restrictors will fall out

Throw them away, but save the "dart plates" with the posts on them.

Cut the dart posts off. You can dremel out the inside of the dart plate for better airflow, I chose not to.

snap the "dart plates" back into the turret.

Screw the Turret assembly back together and you're done with the AR removal Here is a front view of the finished turret.
I chose not to improve the seal, because the stock plunger seal is already pretty good. All I did from there was lubricate all of the moving parts. The spring is similar in size to a Nerf Maverick spring, but feels more powerful.

Ranges: (slightly angled to ground)

(whistlers, taggers,suction,buzz bee)- 20-25 ft.

Streamlines- 30-37 ft.

Stefans (hot glue dome with single BB weight)- 30-35 ft.

Updates... again.

To any of you viewing this blog (for the first time, or if you look at it regularly), I am sorry that I haven't posted in a long time. I reply to comments on my existing posts, but I haven't posted anything new since last year. I will try to get more reviews/ mods up soon, but I won't be posting very much till around June. Also, please comment on this post with suggestions/ feedback for my blog, and keep checking once and a while, because I should get some new content on the blog soon. I'm also looking for suggestions for a new name for the blog, so please comment suggestions for that as well.
